Semiconductor of Maine FCU

When National Semiconductor and Fairchild Semiconductor merged into one company, their financial service institution merged to meet the needs of both sets of employees. AFter all the dust had settled, one remaining issue was their branding - which by that time was already dated.

Semiconductor of Maine FCU contact me to develop new branding that would merge the two companies identities.... without using their identities. The constraints on this project were precarious. Each party needed to be represented separately, yet equally, without using too much branding either way.

The resulting logo was chosen by the Board of Directors, as it contained both of the companies primary colors and divided power equally to both. The color on top is not the first (or left) color and vice versa). The blue part of the logo was turned into a semiconductor chip, and voilá
