7^th Heaven Basset Kennel

To know a basset, is to be loved. My wife and I are the proud owners of two beautiful basset hounds. When we adopted our now eldest, Maggie, from Sandy at 7th Heaven Basset Kennel back in the early summer of 2003.

Sandy had a site, but it was very grassroots and was hard to maintain. She needed something where she could quickly upload images of her puppies and prices, as her time was at a premium. It's not easy managing a job, a family, and all those basset hounds!

One of the first things I concluded she needed was an identity. The name alone invoked many different ideas, but Sandy's site needed to be kept simple and clean as it targeted families and dog lovers.

The logo shown above was the final version decided upon by the client. It whimsically represents a sun in the sky, adorned with complimentary spots the same color as her trademark bi-colored hounds. The web site was kept similarly light and a content management system was put in place to enable her to manage all the content and images.
